I was a little hesitant to commit to La Vie since they’re located half way around the globe and we had a hard deadline for delivery. Nevertheless, the order was placed online and following some very pertinent emails back and forth with Thongbai to verify measurements, etc., we were assured this ladies Sailor Dress would arrive prior to our deadline. They were as good as their word. The package arrived on time, beautifully wrapped with a personal note enclosed. When our leading lady undid the wrapping, she found an amazing dress of astonishing quality which fit her perfectly. It was just as pictured. The night of the event she looked every inch a Star. I would order again from La Vie without a moment’s hesitation.

I ordered the 1920s chiffon party dress with a train. It is beautiful! Exactly as described and as per the photos. I love the train dropping off the shoulder: a very elegant detail. The embroidery is beautiful. I was asked if I wanted it to be made to my own measurements but the medium is perfect, no alterations needed. I'm a UK size 12. The lining makes it very comfortable to wear. It arrived very well packed in a sturdy box so hardly any creases. I wanted an elegant dress and it is exactly that: beautiful and as the description says: stylish. I love it!

The fit is loose and figure skimming, think about 4-6" of ease in the hips and 2-3" in the bust. I added a split flutter sleeve and waist detail. I asked for extra length ( I am 5'8"), which would make it more dressy. The colour is a cross between a deco Jade and Emerald, and isn't as bright as my screen showed. It is quite plain, so I may add some trim to neckline and the skirt.

The quality is superb. The item was as pictured and beautifully made. I had immediate response from emails I sent enquiring about sizing. One little hiccup was that the dress is a tad too big so factor that in when ordering. Best to do measurements and have made to size rather than off peg. Packaging was lovely, wrapped in tissue with ribbon and sent in crush proof box thanks to small bamboo cuttings enclosed. I had a bit of a shower on the floor as I didn’t know it was there but easier to clean up than confetti! I would definitely go back to this company again.

Great hat! Made from a sturdy but feminine canvas material, I wasn't afraid to squish it. I got so many compliments for the matching hat and dress. The hat is also comfortable, although I wish I'd gotten a size medium. My head measures exactly 22.5", but the small was a tiny bit snug on my forehead and compressed my hair more than I would like. However, this will not stop me from enjoying it many times over! It's very comfortable and stylish. I wore it pretty much two days in a row for hours at a time and wasn't bothered.

This is beautiful. Well made. It is perfect for modern events as well as Art Deco (daytime outfits). When I go out to dinner, I like to use a handbag that is smaller and a bit dressier than my large "all day handbag" and this is perfect. It's roomy and easily fits both a large cell phone and a kindle. On the inside is a zippered pocket for credit cards and keys. The outside latch is strong; it won't pop open as happens with many handbags. I like the option of a shoulder strap. In order to have one for all my outfits, I bought it in two colors, one black and one cream. Great item. Love it.

Hi Thongbai, my package finally arrived. I had wanted the purse for my friends' birthday. It was a couple days late, but, it worked out, she loved it.I got the dress for myself, and I love it. You had to customize my dress and you did it to perfection. I've never had a dress to fit me that well. I love the material the whole dress is lined , except for the sleeves. I love the era also. Trusted shop, you can have your dress made to measure at no extra cost! It fits me perfectly, the customer service is very fast by message. Fast delivery (ordered on September 28 and received on October 8). Beware, however, of the extra costs!!!! DHL charged me 40 euros in extra customs fees for my package to arrive in France so be vigilant. First of all, let me just say that I can be extremely fussy and I haven't got the easiest shape to purchase for. I had to do a custom order for this dress and was pleasantly surprised that the price didn't change (even though the site did say it was the same price). I am around 4'11" and not overly petite (b37" w35" h38" approximately). Thongbai was wonderful and made suggestions when I couldn't decide on headwear etc. When I asked for extras as an alternative before deciding whether to get the hat as well, she provided them at a minimal price and included them with the dress. I have never had such a great experience and my dress fit better than most that I get to try on (and was soo comfortable that I didn't want to take it off)! Highly recommend both the dress and the seller. Excellent experience!

This dress is very lovely. The tailoring is well made and it is comfortable to wear. The fit is very beautyful, even on a post partum body that still needs some work 😉
The chiffon fabric is polyester but feels good none the less. It falls heavy and has good colour and no fizz as some cheap chiffons do. This was my first purchase from this store and i am very satisfied. I am gonna cross my fingers that the green dress will come back in stock.

The dress is rather pretty. The cut is perfect. Communication has been quite responsive. The look is rather elegant. However, the fabrics for the dress gets wrinkles easily. I tried steaming it but took a long time to reduce wrinkles. The wrinkles come back quickly when wearing. UK custom charges a hefty tax when getting delivery.

LaVie Delight made a custom cocktail dress for me that made me look like I’d stepped off the cover of a 1920s movie magazine. Flirty, alluring, fun with a comfortable perfect fit. I was a afraid my busty big-hipped form would result in an ill-fitting costume like I’d buy at Party City. This one was elegant, no wrinkle, truly comfortable (yes, worth repeating!) Dress arrived a week earlier than promised, as did the matching cloche. I will bookmark LaVie Delight, if for no other reason than to check what new creations are popping from the shop.

So many compliments when I wore this black cloth and lace cloche, along with the fabulous fan-sleeve black cocktail dress to a ‘20s fundraiser in February. The “Ohs” started with my hairdresser, with her assistant offering advice for how to look jaunty and alluring! (The assistant used to collect ‘20s headwear as a hobby.) The cloche continued to date draw steady raves through the night.
Elegant, well made, sturdy and feminine. It came in a protective cloth bag for storage to protect it til it is truly vintage again. As a busty big hipped woman, I was afraid the outfit would not fit and I would be tugging at attire all night. I was so wrong! Best fitting outfit I ever wore! Specified a ship date to the shop. Both pieces arrived a week early. I definitely will bookmark La VieDelight on Etsy.

Beautiful dress for day or evening wear, 1920's. I wore it for a walking tour of Hastings, New Zealand on their Art Deco day in February 2020. Easy to clean, just hand wash and rinse, toss into machine on gentle wash for a final rinse and spin. Hang up to dry. Perfecto!! Not one wrinkle. I'm a USA size 12 and the standard "large" fit perfectly.

Lovely "black dress" without being all black, making it stand out. Appropriate for both daytime and evening 1920's events. Daytime I wore a hat and short gloves; in the evening I wore a fancy head band and long gloves. The dress is hand washable. I washed and rinsed it by hand and then tossed it into the washing machine on a gentle cycle for a final rinse and spin, then hung it up to dry. The next day there wasn't a single wrinkle. Fabulous. Easy wear, easy care. Well made and beautiful. I wear a USA size 12 and the standard large fit perfectly.

Love this dress. Beautiful, high quality, and easy to clean. Wore it for the Sunday afternoon "Gatsby Picnic" at the 2020 Art Deco Festival in Napier, New Zealand. I normally wear a USA size 12 and the standard "large" fit just right. When I came home, I washed it (per the instructions) and it came out perfect -- didn't even need ironing!! I washed and rinsed it first by hand and then tossed it into the washing machine for a final rinse on a "delicate cycle". Took it out, shook it out, and hung it on a plastic hanger to dry. The next morning, I was happily surprised to see that it didn't need any ironing. I could not be happier. I also bought the hat and bow from LaVieDelight. I have a small head (55 cm or 6 7/8) and LaVieDelight customized the hat for me at no additional charge.

Beautiful silk dress for the Napier Art Deco Festival Walking Tour. The material is a gorgeous lightweight silk in a lovely blue with floral design. It also has a nice lining.
